Feed In Tariffs (FiTs)
As of the 1st April 2010, a new government scheme called ‘Feed-In-Tariffs’ will start paying those who generate renewable electricity a flat rate for each KWh of power produced. The rate is dependent on the scale and type of technology but is guaranteed for a period of 20 to 25 years. The scheme covers installations performed since 15th July 2009, and encompasses both retrofit and new build projects.
Please Note: This tariff covers EVERY KWh produced and is not dependant on whether the energy generated is used or exported to the grid.
Tariff Rates (As of 7th May 2010)
An accredited meter will record the KWh units generated by your system and you will receive payment (via your energy company) based upon the following pricing structure:

Notes
- These tariffs are retail price index linked for inflation.
- “Retrofit” means installed on a building which is already occupied
- “New Build” means where installed on a new building before first occupation
- “Stand-alone” means not attached to a building and not wired to provide electricity to an occupied building.
